What is RFID?
Radio Frequency Identification is an electronic system used to track targeted items. |

What makes the MUMS system better?
Quality! MUMS uses chips designed to withstand the rigors of the professional laundry. Extreme heat from dryers and enormous pressure from high speed irons does not affect the high quality chips we use. |
| |
My equipment is very sensitive; will this chip affect it?
NO. These chips are passive and are used in hospitals, labs, and clinics around the world. Many facilities are now applying the same technology to the pharmaceutical end of their business, tracking drugs dispensed within the hospitals and pharmacies. |
| |
Does this mean “big brother” watching?
YES! But YOU are “big brother” using the technology to track your goods, not people. |
| |
Can RFID do anything else?
The chip itself does nothing, however by applying proper data base efforts we can provide a complete history of every piece of linen, from purchase, through repair, and eventual discard or loss. |
| |
Will my clientele object to the appearance of the chip?
Probably not, the chip we use is easily hidden under a label on the garment placed in an obscure location. |
| |
How can I learn more about RFID?
Call or Email MUMS at any of the locations provided on the Contact Us tab. A MUMS representative will contact you and answer any other questions you may have. |
